I heard some devastating news this past weekend...
Tia's (home of the SWIRL - the best drink in the UNIVERSE!) went out of business last week.

Flying Monkey Arts Center
Everybody needs to come out and see one of my "Heroes" Jonathan Richman. He's been doing his own thing since the 1970's. He is truly gifted - I can't believe that he's actually coming to Huntsville. No one can be disappointed in his show. I can't wait!

Hey Folks...
I just wanted to apologies for the surprise cover charge at The Rocket Scientists / Junior Brown show @ The Crossroads. I heard that it was $10 earlier in the week - and I even thought that was kinda pushing it - but when I got to the bar Friday night for sound check, I found out that they were going to charge $20 to get in. They were really worried that they wouldn't bring in enough money to pay Junior Brown's guarantee.
Anyway - thanks so much to you guys that came out. I totally understand not being able or not wanting to pay that much for the show.
If I would have found this out earlier, I would have posted the price before hand.

Was it legal to stay at La Alameda past 10:30 pm last night?
John-Bone & Wood wanted me to see if I could catch Shay last night. I made a few calls and he made it over Wood's by 11 pm - performed the shortest session yet, maybe 12 minute??? Then ... gone.
But then, around 12:45 am I was lured to a group of ex-patriots with psychic promises of Moon Bases & NASA stickers (pronounced NASSAR - I think??) a good bit after midnight over.

I enjoyed Matt's play so very much - one of the best things I've ever seen. He's a genius & he needs to get his ass out of Huntsville. I mean that.
My performance went pretty good - My friend Caroline Prince joined me for four original "Happy Cow" songs (our first band - circa 1985 ... of course, minus Chris Chapman, the third member who died around 7 years ago - we tried to do his parts justice, but we could never do them as good as him), Caroline was great - a BIG thanks to her.
